Sweet September

I know I’m saying this a bit late, because you’ll be gone soon, but… I love you. You brought me the golden plums that explode with sun warmed juice in each bite. You brought me real tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, the kind of tomatoes with their own landscapes and identities. You brought blueberries and the first signs of hardy winter squash, Nash’s juice carrots and roasted corn. You also brought with you my son’s first day of pre-school and a good friend’s wedding, for which I had the pleasure of making the cake. I look forward to meeting your neighbor October, I know she shares your love of abundance, but for now I just want to say Thank You September… you’re sweet.
