Canonized

For the last few months I've spent countless hours oooing and awing over the wonderful photography and writing out there in the blog world. So I came to the conclusion that my blog just would not and could not be a photo less space. So, I've leaped into the still frame world and in my first hour of fumbling I managed to snap these little gems. I aim mostly to document my cooking (pre-digestion), and my little world of local flavors and edible finds, but for now the skillets are cold, until I come down from my Canon high and find my will to eat again...

Sweet September

I know I’m saying this a bit late, because you’ll be gone soon, but… I love you. You brought me the golden plums that explode with sun warmed juice in each bite. You brought me real tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, the kind of tomatoes with their own landscapes and identities. You brought blueberries and the first signs of hardy winter squash, Nash’s juice carrots and roasted corn. You also brought with you my son’s first day of pre-school and a good friend’s wedding, for which I had the pleasure of making the cake. I look forward to meeting your neighbor October, I know she shares your love of abundance, but for now I just want to say Thank You September… you’re sweet.
